Crucial railway element analysis according to CEN/TR 17696:2021
All manufacturers of rolling stock and rail stock components and subsystems are required by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779 of May 16, 2019, which establishes specific guidelines for the certification system of vehicle maintenance bodies in compliance with the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council, or ECM / MMS, to assess the criticality of designed and manufactured components and subsystems by analyzing their impact on safety. In order to simplify this procedure, CENELEC and the European Railway Agency have collaborated to release a technical report on the execution of this duty. Methods of conduct are established in CEN/TR 17696:2021 using pre-defined instruments for RAM and SIL analysis.
